My favorite Valentine’s decor is easy, affordable and can be used for many occasions.

I usually start with a pom garland, shimmer garland and then add things here and there to tie it all together.

My favorite shimmery garland is this pink fringe garland. I’ve used it for birthdays and multiple holidays. Pick a color you love so that it’s easier to mix in with many occasions.

A popular alternative this year has been balloons and you can get a big pack of balloons for a few dollars, be it heart shaped or ovals they look great as a backdrop. Kiddos also enjoy playing with them.

Eli is actually scared of balloons so we try to use them for a few hours and then deflate. We are careful when deflating so we can reuse them.
To make deflating easier, use elastic bands to seal the air. After use, untie or cut (very carefully) the band. This will allow you to keep the balloon intact for next use.
Some balloons warp and stretch when left inflated for days so deflate them as soon as you no longer need them so you can use them for multiple occasions.
The vintage letter garland we used this year is from last year. I try to reuse as much as possible from previous years. No shame in reusing decor.
Don’t feel forced to buy new decor for each holiday. Use what you can. If you can afford something new, thats great too!
An alternative to home decor is digitally enhancing your image with stickers on a phone or computer app. I am partial to lights and splatters. Give it a try, they’re so much fun.
